 NMS is an open access publication, and the first Male Studies Journal in the world. It has been sponsored by the Australian Institute of Male Health and Studies, which is committed to interdisciplinary scholarship in the pursuit of enhanced health and well-being for men and boys.

NMS is supported by a significant and growing number of internationally distinguished scholars, whose interest and commitment will not only ensure the future of the journal, but will establish a long overdue free and intelligent discourse in relation to gender, and all that it means to be male in contemporary society.
